Joshua Eckersley, 33, of Bayville, also faces one count of endangering the welfare of a child. She said she saw Eckersley walk past her naked after he had apparently touched himself near the lockers, the affidavit said. The two did not exchange any words and the girl went into a bathroom stall to wait until she heard Eckersley leave the locker room, the court complaint says. The girl left the bathroom and then told her coaches what had happened, the affidavit says. The video shows him in a hallway fully dressed about three or four minutes later, the complaint says. Eckersley is a math teacher at Central Middle School. Eckersley has not and will not be on the school grounds or in any of our buildings until this matter is concluded. She went on to apologize to the year-old student and called it the worst mistake of her entire life.
Now another parent is speaking out about what she calls unfair punishment. On Tuesday we told you about one parent who wanted to know where the chaperones were and what they were doing while the children were having sex. Those are questions we asked the Newberry School Superintendent. Seventy middle schoolers and 20 chaperones went to the nation's capital for what was supposed to be an educational trip. They checked it the first time and they said they'd be back by 12 something and they didn't check," the boy says. It wasn't fair," says the mother. Newberry County School Superintendent Bennie Bennett can't talk specifically about the students' punishment in this case.
